Troodos

The Troodos mountains are an area of worldwide geological and botanical
importance. The highlight of our trip is a visit to Kykko, the most
famous monastery in Cyprus, with its sumptuously decorated church and
impressive museum filled with icons and other Byzantine treasures. At
Troodos square we can enjoy sampling local produce such as nuts, fruit
and sweet wine. We return by the forest road, driving under a canopy
of trees and who knows, if we are lucky, we may see the elusive moufflon,
the heraldic wild sheep of Cyprus.

Omodhos

We visit the picturesque village of Omodhos, situated in the heart of
Cyprus' wine-producing region. Most of our day is spent in the village
as there is so much to see there: the monastery of the Holy Cross, the
huge old restored wooden wine press, and the hand-blown glass shop.
We can also wander around the traffic-free lanes to admire the traditional
architecture of the houses and perhaps buy some crochet or embroidery
work from the old ladies who sit working in their colourful courtyards.
The meze lunch is at a traditional taverna.

Akamas By Land
Departure : 09.00
We get away from it all to explore the edge of the Akamas wilderness
and enjoy panoramic views of an area of Cyprus still relatively untouched.
With its diverse habitats a haven for flora and fauna, the Akamas offers
a wonderful trip for people who enjoy the countryside and bird life.
We also see a goat farm and an abandoned village with mud-brick houses.
In spring, we can enjoy the beautiful flowers which flourish everywhere,
including orchids and other endemics.

Paphos Villages
Departure : 09.00
Encounter Cyprus at its authentic best as we head off into the hinterland
to explore the more remote of the Paphos villages. This is a region
where time stands still and goats and donkeys take precedence over cars!
We meet the villagers who allow us a glimpse of a traditional way of
life that is fast disappearing, and enjoy an authentic village meal
at a local taverna.

Akamas Boat Trip
Departure : 09.00(April-October)
At the picturesque fishing harbour of Latchi , we embark on a leisurely 3 hour accessible boat trip which takes us to the tip of the Akamas peninsula, an area which has been described as the last truly Homeric landscape of the Hellenic world. Sailing over the clear blue Mediterranean Sea, we pass tiny coves and majestic cliffs that are inaccessible except by boat and are part of the most beautiful coastline in Cyprus. We anchor for a hour in a beautiful turquoise bay to swim and sunbathe. There is a hoist on board and our staff is on hand to assist. On returning to the harbour, we travel up to the hills to have lunch at a village tavern before returning to the south coast through the steeply terraced vineyards.
