A disability lobby group has welcomed an ACT Government review of wheelchair accessible taxi services.

An advisory body representing disabled groups will report back to the Government later this year.

Craig Wallace from the group People with a Disability says people using the wheelchair taxi services have concerns about long waiting times, taxis not turning up and the quality of the service.

"There are enough taxis actually on the road," he said.

"The problem is that they're not actually servicing the people that they're intended to serve and we need to keep reminding ourselves that there are actually considerable discounts to the owners of these taxis to service the disability community and they're not doing their job properly."
